Nomad Home Kabul is a house of makers. A family of craftswomen and craftsmen from across Afghanistan, connected by a shared passion for making, collecting, and preserving the country’s rich material heritage.

We are a family of 80 people, working in close cooperation with 30 independent small ateliers across Afghanistan. Our expertise lies in rugs, where generations of knowledge, handcraft and material sensitivity come together. But our work extends beyond carpets.

We make hand-blown glass in cooperation with the last glassblowers in Afghanistan, create winter fur wear with experienced traditional makers, and have built a substantial collection of vintage and antique hand-embroidered textiles from Afghanistan and Central Asia.

We are fully based in Afghanistan. Every piece we create, collect and develop begins here, shaped by the people, materials and traditions of the country. We share our work internationally through a carefully selected network of retail partners around the world, from Europe and the United States to India, China and Japan.

At the heart of Nomad Home Kabul is a belief in the value of things made by hand. We work closely with the people who make them, allowing their knowledge, intuition and individual character to remain part of the final piece.

For us, craft is not simply a technique. It is a living connection between people, materials, places and time—one that we are committed to keeping alive while giving it a place in the contemporary world.
